Six Senses Hideaway Con Dao – Vietnam

Scheduled to open in late 2010, Six Senses Hideaway Con Dao is the new destination for chic travellers and nature lovers in South-East Asia. This exclusive luxury haven can be reached by the resort’s private airplane with a quick 45-minute journey from Ho Chi Minh City.

Located on the exotic island of Con Dao – 200 kilometres off the southeast coast of Vietnam – Six Senses Hideaway Con Dao offers dramatic views, protected tropical forests and pristine white beaches. The archipelago is home to a variety of endemic bird species, hawksbill turtles, green turtles and dugongs. It has also some of the best diving spots in the region with 1,000 hectares of coral reefs.

The five-star eco-resort will eventually comprise 35 hotel villas with private pools, 16 residential villas, shops, a cooking school, two restaurants, two bars, a library, a state-of-the-art gym and a tropical Spa. The arrival and main guest area of Six Senses Hideaway Con Dao recreates a fishing village and local market and features real antique doors recycled from old Vietnamese houses.

The restaurant is located close to the beach, perched on top of the sand dunes between the ocean and the river. The large decking area offers a variety of vistas and seating experiences ranging from sofas and daybeds to dining tables. The Chefs Table, wine cellar, and the secluded “cocoon” dining room provide additional unique dining experiences.

Set within the mangrove landscape, the Six Senses Spa provides a unique and unexpected natural setting and offers relaxing views across the river to the surrounding islands.

The swimming pool is surely one-of-a-kind: facing the sea, it is literally located in the mangrove river. Guests will be able to swim in clear water surrounded with lush tropical mangrove vegetation and breathtaking views over the ocean.

A paradise for those in search of unspoilt beauty and ecological uniqueness…
