Place d’Armes Hôtel & Suites – Montreal

Nestled in the heart of Old Montreal, Place d’Armes Hôtel & Suites welcomes you in a well-known neighborhood where historic architecture and modern luxury blend harmoniously. Located few steps away from the Station Places-d’Armes, it is an excellent place to enjoy and live the rhythm of Montreal.

Place d’Armes Hôtel offers 135 rooms, including suites and penthouses. The hotel is composed of three Victorian buildings that have been seamlessly converted without sacrificing too many of the original architectural details. However be careful when booking as on the first night we were giving a room in the older part, incredibly small and frankly outdated (“buttery” walls and dark wood floors). When Thomas complained about the room, we got moved to a much nicer one, spacious and lovely with electric fireplace… as one would expect with the rates they charge.

Overall the hotel has an undeniable charm, especially the delightfully airy lounge bar called Suite 701 where breakfast and lunch are served. With its vaulted ceiling and carved pilasters, it truly is a monument to Montreal’s rich heritage. A complimentary glass of wine with cheese is offered here every evening. At night it is the hot spot for trendy urbanites and an excellent place for some people-watching. During summertime, one of the most sought-after spots is the terrace atop the chic Hôtel Place d’Armes.

Pictures to come.
